OUR MISSION
Taarifa is Swahili for "message," our mission is to increase the importance of early literacy awareness among families caring for children birth-eight years old.
WHY EARLY LITERACY?
Research shows that children from underserved communities are at a higher risk of entering kindergarten with poor language and literacy skills. When children hear more words from being read to and engaging them in conversations, language and literacy development are greater.
